    Moab Fun

Recap of the last few days, Poison spider and Goldenspike were fun we bumped every ledge we could find. Double whammy on gold bar was a total hoot. Day after Metal masher more of the same, Mikey broke his front slip yoke. So I did widow maker by myself. When we got back to town, we bought a new slipyoke and repaired the driveshaft. Then called it a day, so no rusty nail. Yesterday we tooled around area BFE and finished Upper Heldorado., that was a total hoot we just couldn't stop laughing. Today Kane creek easy trail sine Mikey broke the steering box on his Jeep yesterday. Kane creek was nice a bit cooler than in town, some rocks, nice scenery and a lot of driving through the creek which was pretty cool since it was over 40 degrees today. Somewhere in between we ran hells revenge a few times, drove up Potato salad hill twice, so all in all a pretty good trip. The best of the three Moab trips I did so far. Next year I want to run Pritchet again, this time both ways and do behind the rocks at the same time, Want to run Rusty nail also and spend more time at area BFE

    Moab Fun

Have been stewing on this one for awhile. Met up with Jeepers from Conecticut, Maryland, Misouri, North Carolina, Kansas, New Mexico and a bud from Fresno California to entertain ourselves with some Moab fun. Didn't really care for top of the world, long drive for a pretty picture. Now on Hells Revenge we had a ball. Hells gate piece a cake, ran escalator twice just for fun, tried the devils highway got about half way up, just not enough power to get to the top, needs a good run at it. Still felt nice and stable half way up with the tires spinning. Car wash nailed it, that was fun. Tatersalad hill piece a cake on the right side tried twice same result put put put to the top. So all in all a ball Having fun in Moab
  5. Today's Hammer trip didn't quite as smooth as usual. First got stuck on a bunny trail how embarrassing lol Oops I gots a pebble under my belly after that we ran another trail, then on the way to the next trail we lost sight of each other, couldn't find one and another, didn't see any recognizable landmarks so just kept the sun behind me and to the right and kept going till I hid the highway, then aired up pushed those big ole 40's down the highway, flogged those 4 lil squirrels and got it up to 55 60mph about 6 miles later turned back on Boone road and was back at the lake bed, waited for my but after we crawled up Chocolate thunder and then headed to Backdoor which told us No, No, No, not happening. It's dug out, slick as snot I am denying you guys. Didn't hurt my Jeep to badly, so of to Moab I go
  6. Was een hele fijne dag bonding met de natuur
  7. Met up with Fred this morning to put ole Betsy through her paces after her latest facelift. Lots a fun, we must have hit just about every waterfall we could find. We started on the lil trail after Hammerdown and ran that all the way to the end, then found some cool extra credit stuff at the end. Then started hunting for parts of the on the rocks trail, had fun on that. Then did a bit of crosscountry/ cross rock driving. Mikey would be a good trail to see if the trans pan is deep enough. It starts with a nice steep climb, steeper than the widow maker rock After that some more playing around then we found the coolest waterfall, kinda my practice for Helldorado. On the way back at the start of Hammerdown we saw a really nicely built JK really really stuck. Help those guys get that thing unstuck and that wrapped up the day quite nicely. So in short to sum it up, Ole Betsy's big bad 111" rocks, a few minor issues with the steering other than that she is Hammer ready
  8. Subtle add on made my day
  9. My bud fred's Jeep on it's first shakedown run after the last round of fabbing
  10. Andere oplossing emgreer, Rusland, Canada, Austalia, New Zealand en America hebben een hoop natuur om in tespelen. Waar ik woon is geen wegen belasting en de benzine en Diesel is nog bijna te betalen
  11. Slowly starting to get ready for my Moab trip, got one of my tires fixed, yeah, 2 more to go. Was always doubtfull you could pop a bead with a hilift jack and it actually works fairly well. Here is a nice progression of my addiction, the lil tire is the stock tire of my yellow Jeep Still the brand new spare, the other 4 stayed on the Jeep 3 months and about 3000 miles since I took it from the showroom floor, been down hill from there Some of my tire fixin stuff
  12. My buddy Fred is moving right along with his project Mo Freddy fabbing This whole setup is very nicely packaged and quite the tight affair, very nice work Fred

    Tinkertoy #2

Started looking at my lil buggy project again, got around to checking steering clearance at full flex and full bump, all A okay Got droop?
  16. my lil project all finished up Clearance at full droop This whole affair moved the mounting points 2" further forward and away from the axle, thus reducing total amount of travel of the swaybar at full flex win win all the way baby yeah!
  17. Started giving my lil darling a lil more love, the rear anti rock brackets were bending on the axle and the last outing one of the nuts for the heim on the AR arm side caught under the frame so that is going to be addressed as well. Moving right along. ne side done, better angle of the arm and rod and seriously doubt this will bend.

  19. Hier is een aardige banden vergelijking 28" tires 31" tires 32" tires 33" tires 35" 35" krawlers versus 42" Pitbulls 39.5" Pitbulls 37" Krawlers 35" KM2's versus 40" MTR's
  20. Using my tire carrier as a bumper doesn't seem to be an entirely good idea. Was having a hard time getting the latch pin in. Resolved that today and had a bit of fun welding. The idea is that it might make almost a usable rear stinger. The way things go, put put Jeep aka mountain goat keeps climbing steeper stuff. Eventually that will lead to trouble Oh well I liked how this weld looks. Welded as you see it. Anyway, my lil project for the day is whipped back in shape Don't think aluminum rings would have been happy on my rims. These steel ones look worse for wear after just 2 outings
