aw12345 Geplaatst June 24, 2013 Auteur Rapporteren Share Geplaatst June 24, 2013 After a trip to Los Angeles to pickup a big screen TV for a friend from work I wandered by accident in the garage and saw this rust bucket that wanted some attention, so what the heck, plugged in the welder and did a lil bit of work Steering arms need to grow a bit from version one. If you ever setup a full hydro ram make sure the link between the ram and the steering arm is straight at full turn Not so But so Oh well live and learn Some more work on this today, I like how this came out Citeren Link naar opmerking Deel via andere websites

aw12345 Geplaatst June 24, 2013 Auteur Rapporteren Share Geplaatst June 24, 2013 Start another project, Tinkertoy #1 is aching for another 4 cylinders. That ought to keep me occupied for some time to come after this one is finished to my liking. Also have to spend some serious time to tame the jungle in my backyard garden, that has gotten out of hand in the last few years. Had to machine a few new spacers and what not. With some luck on to the other side tomorrow. Then see if I can make a reservoir out of a chunk of old driveshaft, is a nice big thin wall tube. cap both ends weld in some fittings and tubes and maybe even snag a powersteering filter from work and it will be all spiffy, damned thing will hold a couple of quarts of fluid if I can help it. aw12345 Geplaatst March 31, 2014 Auteur Rapporteren Share Geplaatst March 31, 2014 After getting my truck smogged today, I found some time to tinker First wired two 70 amp relays, for the low and high speeds of the cooling fan. Anyway ran it through a Maxi fuse holder, powers both relays. Made a switch panel and secured it. aw12345 Geplaatst September 2, 2014 Auteur Rapporteren Share Geplaatst September 2, 2014 Other than having to source 4 different 10 mm bolts my drivshaft yoke project is concluded. Made the adapter on my old lathe using a 4 jaw independent chuck that's probably close to 50 years old, had to flip the big chunk to machine the other side and it still has only 0.005" run out now that it's installed, pretty pleased with that. aw12345 Geplaatst September 14, 2014 Auteur Rapporteren Share Geplaatst September 14, 2014 Steering on Tinkertoy was a wash, but playing with scrappy was fun. Welded a few thing in the heat put some oil in the front diff. Tightened and added jam nuts to the control arms and then it was flexy time. Also figured out that the TCC works in all gears, couldn't figure out for a bit why the darn thing kept stalling, guess a idiot light would be a good addition. Anyway on to the good stuff at 4 feet of flex front and rear things are stable and it's easy to get there. I bet I am gonna love auto wheeling.
