    Desertmall Fun

Met up with my buddy Chris and some of his friends from Inland Jeep Freeks for some Hammer wheeling. Had a hooting good time, bit of trail fixing a few stucks, winching and a lot of wheelin made for a great day. We ran Wrecking ball, Bender alley, up Jack North, bit of Sledgehammer, then up upper Sledgehammer, where we experienced a few epic stucks. After that onto Chocolate thunder, my lil Jeep sustained a Chocolate kiss there. I hate the sound of screeching metal, sounds like you tear the whole side open. Was a creative line and it worked, total damage of it was a bunch of scrapes on the side and a small tear in the seat. I love crawling through obstacles sideways. Epic fix of the day happened on Bender alley. One of the guys blew the snapring out of the steering box that hold the sector shaft seals in place. After some thinking and scouring for tools we got the genright pitman arm off (regular pitman arm puller doesn't work carry their puller if you have one of those) After an hour of screwing around we determined that the spiral ring just was not going back in it's groove, so we made a spacer out of coiled bailing wire, a shoe lace and a ziptie, stuffed this around the sector shaft, pitman arm held it in place nicely. Finished the trail with no leaks, so he finished the rest of the day with us, pretty cool. dirt (1) by aartjestaartje, on Flickr dirt (9) by aartjestaartje, on Flickr dirt (8) by aartjestaartje, on Flickr dirt (7) by aartjestaartje, on Flickr dirt (6) by aartjestaartje, on Flickr dirt (2) by aartjestaartje, on Flickr dirt (3) by aartjestaartje, on Flickr dirt (4) by aartjestaartje, on Flickr dirt (5) by aartjestaartje, on Flickr
